Police Hunt Witnesses in Thomastown Hit-Run Collision

Police are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate a collision in Thomastown where the occupants of a stolen vehicle fled the scene earlier this week.

A stolen light blue Toyota Corolla collided with a white Corolla sedan and a white Hyundai Tucson SUV on the Greensborough bound Metropolitan Ring Road, near the Dalton Road on ramp, about 5.20pm on Tuesday, 28 July.

Officers were told three male occupants got out of the blue Corolla, one of them armed with a knife, then fled on foot.

There were no physical injuries.

Police are urging anyone who was driving in the area around the time of the collision to check their dashcam.

It is understood the three offenders crossed six lanes of traffic, then ran into nearby parkland.

They were all wearing dark clothing and face coverings.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

The blue Toyota Corolla was stolen from a tennis club in Essendon on 28 July.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, with CCTV/dashcam vision or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
