Police investigate serious assault atNoarlunga Centre

A teenager was arrested after an allegedly unprovoked assault at Noarlunga Centre last night.

Police and paramedics responded to reports of an assault at the Noarlunga Centre bus interchange at 5.30pm on Sunday 3 September.

A 25-year-old Hackham man sustained a stab wound to the back. The victim was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was quickly located and apprehended by police near the Beach Road expressway ramp.

A knife believed to have been used in the attack has been recovered.

The victim and suspect are not believed to be known to each other.

The 18-year-old Morphett Vale man was arrested and charged with aggravated cause serious harm. He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court later today, Monday 4 September.
