Police lay charges - Attempting to pervert justice in Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged a woman in relation to threatening behaviour against an officer involved in the investigations into the disappearance of a 5-year-old girl in August 2022.

Earlier today, detectives arrested the 50-year-old woman after a search warrant was conducted on a residence in Anula and an electronic device seized.

She has been charged with:

  • Threats or reprisals relating to persons involved in criminal investigations or judicial proceedings or against public officers
  • Attempting to pervert justice

She was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court tomorrow.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Jon Beer said, "Threats made against our officers as they go about their duty protecting and serving the community will not be tolerated."

"Everyone has the right to work without fear of this sort of behaviour, including police."
