Police lay charges over drug offences - Palmerston 6 July

Northern Territory Police have charged a woman for a number of drug offences in Palmerston yesterday.

At about 11:15am, the vehicle the female was travelling in was apprehended on the Stuart Highway in Pinelands, after leaving a hotel in Palmerston.

The vehicle was subject to a search, locating four suitcases containing a combined total of 56kg of cannabis.

The 45-year-old woman was arrested at the location and later charged with:

1 x Supply schedule 2 substance - commercial quantity

1 x Possess schedule 2 substance - commercial quantity

She was remanded to face Darwin Local Court today.
