Police lay firearm charges at Blackwater

Central Queensland detectives have charged a man following an alleged incident in Blackwater.

It will be alleged just before midnight on July 2 the man attended a Sandalwood Street address and threatened a 49-year-old man and 48-year-old woman demanding money.

It will be further alleged the man used a firearm to discharge one shot into the front door of the residence.

At 8.30 last night (July 4) the man was located at a Bauman Way address and taken to the Rockhampton Watchhouse.

The 24-year-old Blackwater man was charged with one count each of enter dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence and used actual violence, going armed so as to cause fear, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, unlawful possession of weapon category A and commit acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, threatening violence by discharging a loaded firearm and threatening violence by words or conduct.

He is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court today (July 5).
