Police make arrest - Domestic Violence in Darwin 8 September

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 25-year-old man after a domestic violence related assault overnight.

Around 8:45pm, the Joint Emergency Service Communications Centre received reports that a 62-year-old man had been stabbed with an edged weapon at a residence in Tiwi.

Police and St John Ambulance attended the scene and officers subsequently arrested the 25-year-old alleged offender. He is expected to be charged later today.

The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is believed both men are known to one another.

Detectives from the Domestic and Family Violence Unit are investigating and are urging anyone with information, particularly if you witnessed the assault, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10450411.
