Police make arrest - Threaten with firearm at Humpty Doo

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 42-year-old male overnight in relation to a firearm incident in Humpty Doo.

Just after 9pm, police attended a residence on Trippe Road after reports of a 42-year-old male had trespassed on a residential property armed with a weapon after feeling aggrieved about a Facebook post regarding dogs wandering into yards.

The male allegedly threatened occupants of the residence before fleeing.

Northern Territory Police later arrested the male and seized the loaded firearm.

The 42-year-old was charged with:

  1. Possess an unregistered firearm
  2. Fail to secure firearm
  3. Possess ammunition without permit/licence
  4. Possess/use firearm unlicensed
  5. Assault - threaten with firearm/weapon
  6. Trespass on enclosed premises

He is due to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
