Police probe after public place shooting in Fairfield

Police have responded to reports of a public place shooting at Fairfield this evening, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 8.30 pm today, today, police were called to Douglas Street following reports of shots fired.

Police have been told a group of 4-5 males were involved in an argument with two other males, one of whom allegedly produced a handgun and discharged a shot.

No one was injured during the incident and the two men fled from the area in a grey or blue hatchback.

Officers attached to Fairfield Local Area Command attended the location and established a crime scene, which will be examined by forensic experts.

Detectives from Fairfield Local Area Command continue with their inquiries into the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact Fairfield Police Station or Crime Stopers.
