Police release CCTV as part of investigation into West Ryde fatal crash

Police have released CCTV of a car and are appealing for public assistance to identify the driver as part of ongoing investigations into a fatal collision at West Ryde yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Road about 6.30am (Wednesday 30 June 2021), following a collision between an SUV and a bus.

The SUV driver, a 25-year-old woman, died at the scene.

The bus driver, a 57-year-old man, was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He also underwent mandatory testing. There were no passengers on the bus at the time.

The Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the crash. Investigators would like to speak with the driver of the car captured in CCTV, on Victoria Road, West Ryde, about 6.20am yesterday, as they may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The car is described as a blue sedan or hatchback.
