Police Seek Information on Historical Sex Offences in Darling Downs, Townsville

Detectives from the Toowoomba Child Protection and Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance as part of an ongoing investigation into historical child sex offences in the Darling Downs.

It is alleged that between 2007 and 2010, the 52-year-old man offended against a male teenage victim at a private residence in Toowoomba.

On 16 October, detectives charged a 52-year-old Murphy's Creek man with two counts of indecent treatment of a child, and one count each of unlawful sodomy, taking a child for immoral purposes and contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on 8 December.
