Police seek public assistance to locate missing 90-year-old man in Merrylands

Police are seeking public help to locate a man missing from his Merrylands home since lunchtime yesterday, NSW Police say.

Frank Wake, aged 90, lives with his wife on Eddy Street at Merrylands.

About 1pm yesterday, he went into the front yard of his home to rake some leaves.

When his wife walked outside to check on him he had gone. Family members commenced a search and police were alerted.

Officers from Holroyd Local Area Command attended and also searched the area but without success.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with grey hair and was last seen wearing grey trousers and a green and white flannelette shirt.

Mr Wake is known to frequent the local shops and parks but is easily confused. He is described as being partially deaf but does not wear a hearing aid.

Police have been advised that Mr Wake is not carrying any identification, money or a phone.

Family and police officers have concerns for Mr Wake’s welfare and continue to search for him.

Anyone who sees Mr Frank Wake or has knowledge of his current whereabouts is urged to contact Merrylands Police or Crime Stopers.
