Police update 2: Arson investigations at Gold Coast 13 September

Following a combination of public information and police investigations detectives have today arrested two men in relation to the arson of a business in Arundel in June this year.

Around 3.30am on Wednesday, June 28, a fire was started in a unit along Distribution Court. Emergency services attended the blaze with the property sustaining significant damage. No one was injured during the incident.

Early this morning police executed search warrants at Moorooka and Eagleby where two men were taken into custody.

A 49-year-old man from Eagleby has been charged with arson and contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically. He is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today on September 13.

A 51-year-old man from Moorooka has been charged with arson, possess a dangerous drug, possess utensil and unlawfully possession of a weapon (namely knuckle dusters). He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 14.

Police continue to investigate and appeal for information from the public about a fire that occurred in the same complex four days before this blaze around 3.30am on Saturday, June 24. Emergency services attended the Distribution Court unit and were able to contain the blaze.
