Police update: Charges - Child abduction in Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged a 67-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man in relation to the abduction of a five-year-old girl from the Berrimah area on Sunday 7 August.

Both have been charged with one count of abduction of a child under 16 years.

The pair were bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on 26 October 2022.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Jon Beer said, "Investigations are still ongoing as we work to identify all parties involved in this abduction.

"Police would again like to thank the community who assisted and the other policing jurisdictions, the Australian Federal Police and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, who provided vital support."
