Police have charged a 44-year-old man with multiple offences including dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm following a serious two vehicle traffic crash in Sheldon this morning (October 10).
A 72-year-old Cleveland man, the driver of the other vehicle, remains in hospital in a critical condition.
The 44-year-old has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing GBH, and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs (cannabis), possessing drug utensils, disqualified and unlicensed driving and stealing (registration plates).
He will further be charged with two counts of fraud and disqualified and unlicensed driving in relation to other matters.
The Brisbane man remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
Earlier: A 72-year-old man is in a critical condition following a two vehicle traffic crash involving a stolen vehicle at Sheldon this morning (October 10).
Initial investigations indicate just before 10am, a Mitsubishi Challenger stolen from Cleveland on October 5 and bearing stolen registration plates, was travelling northbound on Mount Cotton Road when a crash has occurred with a Kia Cerato travelling southbound.
The 72-year-old male driver of the Kia has been transported in a critical condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
A 70-year-old woman, a passenger in the Kia, has been transported in a serious condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
A 44-year-old man, the alleged driver of the stolen Mitsubishi was taken into custody at the scene and is currently receiving treatment for minor injuries at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
