Pool and Pipeline Community Information Session

Rockhampton Regional Council will be hosting a Community Information Session on Wednesday 9 November and is encouraging community members to come along anytime between 3pm until 7pm.

The session will give the community an opportunity to provide input into the Mount Morgan pool redevelopment and learn more about the pipeline project.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said the format will allow the community to ask questions and have discussions, as opposed to a more formal community meeting.

"Councillors, Officers and myself will be on hand to have a chat about two vital projects for the community – the pool and the pipeline," Mayor Williams said.

"We will be at the Mount Morgan School of Arts from 3pm until 7pm which means you can come after school pickup, after work, or whenever suits best - grab a feed and learn more about these projects."

Parks, Sport and Public Spaces Councillor Cherie Rutherford said the session will give the community an opportunity to participate in the process and hopefully learn more about the pool and pipeline.

"By having Councillors and Officers available for one-on-one chats, we are hoping that this will mean everyone's questions are answered," Cr Rutherford said.

"We will also be asking people to complete a survey on the pool to help us capture the community's feedback so we can gain a full understanding of what they want before the project commences.

"We will put out more information on the survey closer to the information session so people who can't attend can still be involved."

Water Councillor Donna Kirkland is looking forward to the Mount Morgan community getting an update on the pipeline project.

"The pipeline project is full steam ahead, and at the information session Council will be providing some updates and more information so the community knows how it's progressing and what to expect," Cr Kirkland said.

"We know how much the pipeline and pool mean to the community so it will be a great opportunity to have a chat and catch up about these projects."

The Community Information Session will be held at the Mount Morgan School of Arts on Wednesday 9 November from 3pm til 7pm. A BBQ and soft drinks will be provided.
