Protest / Gas Release in Perth

About 10:35am today, Thursday 1 June 2023, police were called to an office building on Mount Street, Perth in relation to the suspected release of an unknown gas inside the building by a protester.
Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel were deployed to the scene. About 2,000 or more people were evacuated from the building and an exclusion zone was established around the building.
Upon arrival at the scene officers took a woman aged in her 40s into custody.
Officers from the Tactical Response Group's Bomb Response Unit were deployed to the scene to examine and remove an item believed to be the source of the gas. They are being assisted by specialists from ChemCentre.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, however at this time there is not believed to be any ongoing danger to the community.
