Queensland Cops Discharge Firearm, Arrest Stolen Vehicle Suspects in Oxley

Police have charged a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl following a reported stolen vehicle being tracked from Oxley to Toowong in Brisbane's west yesterday afternoon, February 13.

The 2015 Volkswagen Polo that was stolen from an Ashgrove address on February 12, allegedly drove dangerously at officers during an attempted intercept on Blunder Road.

This resulted in an officer presenting and discharging his service firearm at the vehicle.

The Volkswagen was located abandoned on Fredrick Street in Toowong and four people allegedly from the vehicle were located and taken into custody a short time later.

A 17-year-old Zillmere boy has been charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unsupervised driving, enter dwelling and commit indictable offence, and receiving tainted property.

A 14-year-old Stafford girl has been charged with three counts each of enter premises and commit an indictable offence and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and wilful damage by graffiti.

Investigations are ongoing and the matter will continue to be investigated by Ethical Standards Command, with the investigation subject to oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
