Health Minister Roger Cook has today announced the Carnarvon, Esperance and Narrogin health campuses will receive new CT systems worth a combined $2 million.
In line with the McGowan Government's commitment to world-class healthcare regardless of where people live, the scanners - set to be supplied by Siemens Healthcare Pty Ltd - will empower country clinicians to better diagnose patients through faster scanning, ultra-low dosage and consistent high-quality imaging.
Through the latest innovative CT scanning technology, these scanners have a range of features which clinicians can adjust for every patient. This streamlines the process for the treating clinician, allowing them to diagnose patients with enhanced accuracy and efficiency.
A key feature is the use of mobile technology to allow the clinician to be at the patient's side and talk them through the process during set-up, as opposed to the traditional process of setting up the scan from a booth.
This also enables the treating clinician to make real time evaluations and adjustments - improving the results of the scan and ensuring a more accurate diagnosis.
The new CT scanners follow extensive redevelopments across all three sites in recent years, worth more than $106.8 million combined.
As stated by Health Minister Roger Cook:

"The Siemens systems are made specifically to provide patients the most relaxing and comforting experience as possible.
"It is wonderful to be able to deliver the latest in patient-focused technology to the regions, which builds upon more than $106.8 million worth of redevelopments across Carnarvon, Esperance and Narrogin health campuses.
"Importantly, these systems will empower our dedicated country clinicians to provide even more support to our patients by allowing them to be by their side and talk them through the set-up process."
