The Institute for Sustainable Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Science (SAFES) in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences will hold its first talk in the new seminar series "Water, Energy, and Data Centers in Pennsylvania."
Wangda Zuo, professor of architectural engineering and Institute of Energy and the Environment Fellow, will lead the session, which will take place from noon to 1 p.m., Feb. 24, in room 342 of the Rodney A. Erickson Food Science Building at Penn State University Park.
Zuo will discuss the challenges and opportunities of keeping data centers cool, including an overview of the current landscape and emerging trends of the data center industry, major data center cooling technologies and a real-world case study of a data center in Massachusetts to highlight research advances in data center cooling efficiency.
This is the first seminar in a series of talks addressing questions and concerns about data centers and their implications for water availability and energy usage.
Please register by Feb. 20 to attend in person (lunch provided) or join virtually on Zoom: https://psu.zoom.us/j/93397194773.
