There are not so many senior academics who utilize professional social media platforms, but Robert "Bob" Harris is one of them.

Already listed by Favikon as the No.1 STEM LinkedIn creator in Sweden, Bob Harris at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, The Division of Neuro , has recently been enrolled into Le Centile, a private members' club for the top 1% of creators worldwide, verified by performance data.
"With my LinkedIn posts having reached over 16 million people in less than 2 years, the visibility of Karolinska Institutet and of myself has been enormous - far greater than I could achieve alone through my research. The LinkedIn community has been very appreciative of the discussions about Doctoral Education and academic leadership that I have inspired, and I receive thankyou messages every week from people who believe I have Made A Difference (MAD) to their lives," Bob says.
Bob co-founded 'The Academic Think Tank' (TATT) through contacts made through LinkedIn, and this specific community has already produced one published opinion piece based on their first brainstorming discussion 'Five ways to make the academic workplace happier and healthier this year' (Nature Careers 2026; https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-025-04162-6 ). Bob thinks that given the wealth of experience that senior academics have, both with respect to navigating research, education practices and academic development, then more individuals could do the global academic community a service by sharing their gems of wisdom.
