Serious assault charges, Redbank Plains

Ipswich detectives have charged four teenagers following the serious assault of a man at Redbank Plains earlier this month.

At 8.30pm on Tuesday, September 8, the 21-year-old was confronted by a group at a shopping centre along Redbank Plains Road.

It will be alleged the man was assaulted with baseball bats, before the juveniles fled in two vehicles, a Mazda 323 and Mitsubishi Lancer.

The man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Three 17-year-old boys from the Ipswich area have been charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.

A 16-year-old Yeronga boy has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, affray and contravening an order.

Investigations are continuing.
