Seven's Andrea Nicolas gets set to MC Adelaide Memory Walk & Jog
Seven News Senior Reporter Andrea Nicolas is gearing up to host the 2019 Adelaide Memory Walk & Jog.
Andrea Nicolas is no stranger to Memory Walk & Jog and will be swapping her joggers for the mic as she once again steps up to act as Master of Ceremonies for the Adelaide event, set to be held on Sunday 17 March 2019, at the Colley Reserve, Colley Terrace, Glenelg.
Ms Nicolas said she has been personally impacted by dementia through her father, who passed away having been diagnosed with younger onset Alzheimer's disease at the age of just 56.
"We can never underestimate the importance of support for people impacted by dementia. My family was fortunate enough to receive support from Dementia Australia during our time of need. I want to do my bit to help make sure everyone who is impacted by dementia can receive that same support," Ms Nicolas said.
Memory Walk & Jog raises much-needed funds to support the work of Dementia Australia, which provides invaluable support, education and resources for people living with dementia in Australia, their carers, families and friends.
This year, participants can choose to take part in 3km, 6km or 10km walk, jog or run and are invited to help reach the national $1.5million fundraising target. All funds raised will benefit Dementia Australia services in South Australia.
Memory Walk & Jog is a fun event for all ages. The course is family-friendly, and, no matter your age or level of fitness, everyone is encouraged to participate and join in the fun. You can even register a place for your dog, who will receive a free Memory Walk & Jog bandana.
There will be prizes for the top fundraisers, as well as raffles, plenty of entertainment, food stalls, a jumping castle and a special guest appearance from Memory Walk & Jog mascot, Al the Elephant.
