Showcase inspires scientists of future

More than 400 school students came to the University of Plymouth to gain hands-on experience of science subjects beyond the classroom.
Engineering, marine sciences, cyber security, virtual reality and geography were all at pupils' fingertips as they explored Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects and their impact.
The secondary pupils, who came from schools across Devon and Cornwall, were also given a tour of the new Babbage Building - a £63 million space with state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities for design and engineering.
The showcase on the University's city centre campus was designed to inspire students into further study and careers in STEM, with the added benefit of hearing directly from students currently on the courses.
