Latrobe City Council is welcoming back Shred Fest - a free, all-ages celebration of skate culture in Moe.
The event will take place on Saturday 18 April from 10am to 5pm at Moe Skate Park, 29 George Street.
This year's program features Nike Skateboarding team members Ben Lawrie, Dante Narita-Johnson and Raph Langslow, alongside workshops from Songline Skateboarding and demonstrations led by Olympic skateboarding judge Aimee Massie.
Attendees can enjoy a full day of workshops, training sessions, demonstrations and competitions. There will also be free haircuts from 10am to 1.30pm, free face painting, and food available to purchase.
Local performer and cancer survivor Gaye Lynn will perform at the Moe Library rooftop garden from 1pm to 3pm, marking the first live performance in the space. She will perform hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Penny Lane Wine Bar will be open for breakfast and lunch, offering a $15 lunch deal for Shred Fest attendees and their families, while Sumo Skate Store will also be open with special offers on the day.
Latrobe City Council Mayor, Councillor Sharon Gibson, will be at Shred Fest checking out the competitions and demonstrations.
"Whatever your age, grab your skateboard, bike or scooter and head down to Moe Skate Park this Saturday for what's going to be a really fun and exciting day out," the Mayor said.
"Locals and visitors alike will be treated to seven hours of incredible skating from some of Australia's best skateboarders.
"The skate park will also be open for anyone to use at various times throughout the day."
This event is supported by the Victorian Government's Council Support Package.
