Spain Enrolls in ICC Junior Professional Officer Programme

ICC

On 15 January 2024, Mr Osvaldo Zavala Giler, the Registrar of the International Criminal Court (ICC), and H.E. Ms Consuelo Femenía Guardiola, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, signed an agreement on the participation of Spain in the ICC Junior Professional Officer (JPO) programme.

In December 2023, the Kingdom of Spain has voluntarily contributed approximately EUR 1,2 million to the ICC JPO programme.

The JPO programme encourages young professionals, with an academic degree and limited professional experience, to acquire hands-on work experience under the close direction and supervision of Court officials and senior staff. JPOs are sponsored by States Parties and recruited under bilateral agreements between a donor country and the Court.
