The Australian Government condemns in the strongest terms the appalling acts of vandalism on the Auburn Gallipoli Mosque in Sydney last night.
The Australian Muslim community have made and continues to make immense contributions to our nation.
Earlier in the year, the mosque raised nearly $5,000 to support the bushfire relief efforts. More recently during the pandemic, the mosque has been providing support to their fellow Australians by delivering care packages with essential items to those in need.
We are a nation built on our fundamental values such as respect for the rule of law, freedom of speech and freedom of religion.
Those who seek to divide our community will never succeed.
