Stolen Mercedes Benz SUV dumped at Panorama

Police are searching for the driver of a stolen car dumped at Panorama in the early hours of this morning.

Police initially spotted the stolen white Mercedes Benz SUV on Mooringe Avenue, Plympton about 3.45am on Friday 9 June.

The SUV was pursued as it skirted south around the city however police lost sight of the car as it headed south on Goodwood Road.

About 4.30am, police received a call from a resident in Belleview Avenue, Panorama reporting a stranger had parked the stolen SUV in their driveway, quietly closed the doors and walked away.

Police searched the Panorama area with the assistance of Police Dog Cooper and PolAir, but have not located the suspects.

The Mercedes Benz was towed away for forensic examination. It had been reported stolen from a Campbelltown home on 31 May.

A 30-year-old woman walking in the area was stopped and spoken to and arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Investigations are continuing.
