Supporting volunteers: Our community, our strength

The City of Stonnington is pleased to launch a dedicated webpage for volunteers and community groups.

The new Volunteer Hub contains educational resources, best practice information and skill development workshops. Organisations and community groups can promote local volunteering vacancies, discover events to support volunteer management and connect with volunteers in our community.

City of Stonnington Mayor, Cr Jami Klisaris said Council aims to celebrate and highlight the benefits of volunteering in the community.

"To support our community volunteers and reinvigorate this hard-working sector, we have created a networking and interactive place where people can connect, learn and participate on all aspects of volunteering," said Cr Klisaris.

"Our recent community engagement on volunteers showed us the great impact that COVID-19 has had on the volunteer sector, where people have been slow to return after restrictions eased. By increasing awareness of volunteering opportunities and providing networking opportunities for community groups and organisations, we hope to make the return to volunteering easier for our community.

"We value our volunteers and it's important to support those, who give so much to support others," said Cr Klisaris.
