WSU President Kirk Schulz and other university leaders celebrated the ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court to block plans to dismantle the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy as a victory for students at WSU and across the nation.

"Additionally, we reaffirm our commitment to creating an environment that fully encourages and embraces the educational and life aspirations of all our students," the group wrote in a letter to students, faculty and staff. "It is only then that we will rightly align with the access and opportunity goals embodied in our land‑grant mission."

In addition to Schulz, the letter was signed by interim Provost Bryan Slinker and incoming Provost Elizabeth Chilton, as well as all chancellors, deans and vice presidents.

The group's full message can be read online.
