Seven researchers at the Department of Oncology‑Pathology (OnkPat) have been awarded funding in the Swedish Cancer Society's 2026 call. In total, 26 researchers at Karolinska Institutet have been awarded funding as part of the Swedish Cancer Society's 2026 call, which totals SEK 135 million. The call also includes research schools, one of which is affiliated with OnkPat.

Svetlana Bajalica Lagercrantz is awarded SEK 1,305,000 in funding for the project:
"The Swedish constitutional TP53 cohort (SWEP53): genotype-phenotype prediction and improved 'previvorship' and survival."

Svetlana Bajalica Lagercrantz is also awarded SEK 2,400,000 in funding for the research school NatiOn - National Research School in Clinical and Translational Cancer Research.

Ioannis Zerdes is awarded the Junior Clinical Investigator Award, SEK 3,759,000 in funding, for the project: "Uncovering immunotherapy biomarkers, resistance mechanisms and emerging therapeutic targets in patients with early‑stage breast cancer."
