Taskforce Embona arrest 10 youths under Operation Selector

Victoria Police have arrested and charged ten youths in relation to an alleged armed robbery last month.

It is alleged the ten youths attended a public area in Freshwater Place, Southbank on 15 May where three male victims were assaulted and had their personal items including wallets, mobile phones and clothing stolen.

Embona Taskforce detectives worked hard to identify and locate persons of interest in relation to the incident, executing ten warrants across seven locations in conjunction with the Melbourne Divisional Response Unit, Melbourne Tasking Unit, Southern Metro Region Crime Team, North West Metro Crime Squad, Monash Crime Investigation Unit, Casey Crime Investigation Unit and the Dandenong Frontline Tasking Unit.

Detectives yesterday executed warrants in Mulgrave, Dandenong, Dandenong North, Springvale, Keysborough, Nobel Park, and Hampton Park.

Items seized include

• Two extendable batons

• 10 Mobile phones

Ten people have been arrested and have all been charged with armed robbery, violent disorder, and false imprisonment.

A 16-year-old male from Mulgrave was charged along with nine other males including:

• A 16-year-old male from Dandenong North

• A 15-year-old from Springvale

• A 15-year-old from Keysborough

• A 15-year-old from Keysborough

• A 15-year-old from Noble Park

• A 15-year-old from Noble Park

• A 15-year-old from Dandenong

• A 15-year-old from Hampton Park

• A 14-year-old male from Springvale

All ten offenders have been bailed to appear at a Children's Court at a later date.
