The Templestowe Route Upgrade has reached a major milestone, with works on Anderson Street now complete.
The upgraded section provides safer and more accessible connections for pedestrians and cyclists, forming a vital link between key destinations as construction continues across the route.
Manningham Mayor, Cr Jim Grivas said the project is delivering tangible benefits for the community while prioritising the environment.
"We're seeing strong progress along the Templestowe Route, with completed sections already benefiting the community.
"At Ruffey Creek, we've renewed the footbridge to improve visibility, safety and accessibility, while also installing a new porous footpath that allows rainwater to naturally filter into surrounding tree roots," Cr Grivas said.
"This has fantastic environmental outcomes that support tree health while reducing water runoff.
"These upgrades are not only improving connections across Manningham, but also demonstrating how infrastructure can be delivered in a way that respects and enhances our natural environment.
"Construction will continue along the remaining sections of the route, completing the missing links and delivering a safer, more connected and sustainable transport network for residents and visitors," Cr Grivas said.
The next phase of works is scheduled to commence in early 2027 along Parker and Swilk Streets.
