Third man charged after two people stabbed - Lavington

A third man has now been charged after two people were stabbed at Lavington earlier this month.

About 8pm (Friday 11 December 2020), a man entered a home in Wagga Road, Lavington, and allegedly stabbed a 38-year-old woman with a kitchen knife.

The 44-year-old man, who was known to the woman, was then allegedly attacked by two men at the front of the home. The man sustained multiple stab wounds and was taken to Albury Hospital - under police guard – in a critical condition.

The woman was treated in Albury Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries

Following inquiries, detectives arrested a 19-year-old man that same evening (Friday 11 December 2020). He was charged with reckless wounding in company and remains before the court.

The following day (Monday 14 December 2020), the 44-year-old man was charged with special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was present at a bedside hearing where he was formally refused bail and is scheduled to appear in Albury Local Court on Tuesday 2 March 2021.

As investigations continued, a 19-year-old man attended Albury Police Station this morning (Thursday 31 December 2020), and spoke with detectives.

He was then charged with wound person with intent to murder and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail and will appear in Albury Local Court tomorrow (Friday 1 January 2021).
