Bus timetables and school information packs are now available ahead of improvements beginning from the start of school term 3, Monday 20 July 2026.
July improvements include the return of Rapid bus services to their original routes serving West and North Belconnen restoring continuous services between Fraser and Fyshwick on the Rapid 2 and between Spence and Canberra Airport on the Rapid 3.
These changes follow a period of extensive monitoring and analysis of the road network during the ongoing Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Renewal project.
Updated timetables, school information packs and network maps can now be viewed by the community and downloaded from the Transport Canberra website.
Students, parents and carers are encouraged to view and download the information packs and timetables relevant to their child's school before the start of the new school term 3 on 20 July.
July improvements build on early refinements initially implemented in April and include a range of improvements made to increase efficiency and reliability of the bus network.
This includes an increase in frequency for the Rapid 4 and Rapid 5 to and from Canberra's south, an increase in frequency for the Rapid 6 to and from Woden, and refinements to some local and school services to better reflect actual travel conditions and adjusted school bell times.
The Rapid 5 and Rapid 6 will also continue to run through to Belconnen, providing additional capacity to the network.
All passengers are encouraged to review updated timetables ahead of 20 July 2026 to understand their public transport options and to plan their journey.

Monitoring of the bus network will continue, and further improvements may be identified as the essential work on the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Renewal project progresses.
During the works period, we are continuing to encourage commuters to consider travelling outside of peak times, allowing extra time for their trip or considering other ways to travel to the city.
