The Territory's top students have been celebrated for their outstanding results at the Northern Territory Board of Studies (NTBOS) awards.

The awards acknowledge the top-scoring students in primary, middle and secondary years, and celebrate their fantastic achievements.

Last night Darwin and rural students were celebrated at an event at the convention centre, while Alice Springs students will be presented with their awards on Thursday.

58 Territory students will receive a total of 104 awards across 31 categories.

2022 was an exceptional year for Territory education with 1,352 students successfully completing their Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET).

228 of the NTCET completers are Aboriginal students from across the Northern Territory, of which 70 completed their certificate while studying in a remote community.

Quotes attributable to Minister for Education, Eva Lawler:

"These awards highlight students who have worked hard, and given their best, I commend them on their excellent results, and I'm proud of each and every one of them.

It is important to acknowledge the families and communities who have supported these students to reach their full potential, as well as the hard working teachers who have supported these students and helped them thrive.

Education is crucial to breaking down barriers, and building future success."
