Two apprehended - Unlawful entry in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have apprehended two people following an unlawful entry in Alice Springs overnight.

Police responded to a report of group of people acting suspiciously along George Crescent just after 2:20am.

On arrival police found a shed had been unlawfully entered and offenders had stolen a quantity of alcohol before leaving the area.

Members from Operation Livingstone established a cordon and deployed the police drone and Police Dogs Quake and Fitzy tracked two offenders lying in a nearby drain off of Bloomfield Street.

The offenders ran from the scene and Police Dog Quake chased and apprehended the 19-year-old man. A 15-year-old male was apprehended by police following a short pursuit on foot.

Both males were taken to the Alice Springs Hospital following the arrest as the 15-year-old showed signed of being under the influence of an illicit substance and the 19-year-old received minor injures during the apprehension.

The pair are currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Members of Strike Force Viper continue to conduct inquiries relating to the two outstanding offenders.
