Mr. Tomoki Matsuo, Deputy Director General, Defense Policy Bureau, Japan Ministry of Defense, and Dr. Robert Soofer, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Nuclear Deterrence and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Policy, held a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense Policy Dialogue in Tokyo, Japan, June 10.
Both sides continued the discussion on CBRN challenges to the regional security environment including practical ways to improve defense capabilities and response. They affirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and reinforced the need to deter, mitigate, and respond to CBRN threats.
