WASHINGTON - Today, President Joe Biden announced his intent to nominate Martin Gruenberg to serve as Chair and Member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Martin J. Gruenberg is Acting Chairman and Member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). He joined the FDIC Board of Directors in August 2005 and has served as Vice Chairman, Chairman, and Acting Chairman throughout his tenure. He previously served on the staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs as Senior Counsel of the full Committee, and Staff Director of the Subcommittee on International Finance and Monetary Policy. He received a J.D. from Case Western Reserve Law School and an A.B. from Princeton University.
