  • IAC 2025 is attended by thousands from more than 100 countries

Science and Innovation Minister Stephen Dawson is leading a delegation from the local space industry to the International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2025) in Sydney.

The delegation features representatives involved in the space sector including universities, industry and start-ups and businesses. Western Australia is also set to have its own stand within the 'Australia Zone' on the exhibition floor.

IAC 2025 brings together leaders, experts, and enthusiasts from the global space community to discuss advancements and challenges in space exploration and technology.

This year the event will cover such topics as satellite technology, space policy and international collaboration. It is expected around 10,000 people with attend from more than 100 countries; IAC aims to promote further knowledge sharing and networking across the space economy.

Last year the global space economy was valued at US $613 billion, with the WA space sector seeing more than $1 billion in investment and commitments since 2018.

IAC 2025 takes place between 29 September and 3 October. For more information, see: IAC 2025

As stated by Science and Innovation Minister Stephen Dawson:

"WA is bringing a large delegation across the country to IAC 2025 and putting on display exactly what our continually growing space sector has to offer the world.

"The Cook Government remains committed to making WA 'the place for space' by expanding the local space industry as another key step of diversifying the State's economy.

"Attending IAC 2025 offers a brilliant opportunity for our delegation to make lasting relationships and share knowledge with those who they have never had the chance to meet face to face."
