Wages decision will add to burden

National Road Transport Association

The decision to increase wages by 4.6% per week for many Award based occupations means that some operators will struggle to meet these new labour costs.

Draft orders for the Transport Awards will be published by the Commission on Friday. Once we have examined the draft orders, NatRoad expects to publish updated wage rates for members the following week.

We all know that operators are struggling under sky-high fuel prices and other imposts and this will hit many of you hard. NatRoad is taking your concerns to the new Government and doubling down on efforts to fast-track reforms like laws to change unfair contract terms.

It’s imperative that members aren’t locked into loss making contracts, particularly in the face of a substantial Award minimum wage increases order.
