Wallingat National Park on the Mid North Coast reopens Friday 12 November with an upgraded public road and management trail network.
NPWS Area Manager Stephen Smith said the upgrades will improve public access to the park and its associated facilities whilst ensuring fire trails meet strict safety requirements.
"The upgrades have included replacement of timber bridges with more durable and fire-resistant materials, improved drainage and trail surfaces and installation of turnaround and passing bays," said Mr Smith.
"Wet weather delayed completion of the works, and Batchelor Road will remain closed for another few weeks to enable the last of the works to be completed, subject to weather conditions.
"We ask that all visitors check the NPWS website for updates and adhere to the warning signs in place at Wallingat," said Mr Smith.
The works in Wallingat National Parks are part of the part of the largest ever investment in national park infrastructure including $125.9 million to upgrade and maintain the NPWS fire trail network, which is vital for fire prevention and control.
