Waves pool project reaches construction milestone

A construction milestone has been reached at the Waves Aquatic Centre redevelopment.

The concrete base for the FINA Standard Olympic sized 50 metre swimming pool is being poured in stages and works on the adjacent external 25 metre swimming pool are in progress.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said she was happy to see progress being made on the new state-of-the-art facility, located in Baulkham Hills.

"It's incredible to see this project coming together," Mayor Byrne said.

"You can literally see the shapes of the pools emerging and get a sense of the structure of the future Aquatic Centre.

"Once complete, the new Centre will be energy efficient, accessible, well-designed, and safe and secure. It has many exciting features that will make it a destination in Sydney, including a 20 metre warm water pool with spa and sauna facilities; large gym and fitness space; a water play and splash area, combined indoor 25 metre pool and family leisure pool; and much more.

"This is a significant project for Council and a wonderful asset for the community. I look forward to joining you at the new Waves in 2022," Mayor Byrne added.
