Western Australia coronovirus update as at 7 March 2021

The Department of Health has reported one new case of COVID-19 overnight.

The State's total number of confirmed cases now stands at 917.

The case is a male who has returned from overseas travel and is currently in hotel quarantine.

WA Health is monitoring five active cases of COVID-19 and 903 people have recovered from the virus in WA.

Yesterday 256 people were vaccinated. To date, 6872 West Australians have received the COVID vaccine.

Yesterday at WA Health COVID clinics 311 people presented for testing – 308 were assessed and swabbed.

To date, 26 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia (18 B.1.1.7 of the strain and 8 of the B.1.351 strain).

There have been 879,233 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 128,970 were from regional WA.
