Western suburbs petrol thief arrested

Police from Keilor Downs have arrested a woman as part of an investigation into a series of petrol drive-off's in Melbourne's western suburbs.

It is alleged the woman was involved in at least 24 fuel thefts throughout the Brimbank and Melton areas.

Investigators executed a search warrant at an address on Primula Avenue, Brooklyn this morning a seized a car and other items at the scene.

A 48-year-old woman was arrest at the address, she is expected to be charged with 24 counts of theft and 24 counts of affix false registration plates.

The Brooklyn woman is expected to appear at Sunshine Magistrates' Court later today.
