What's coming up in September across Camden? We're glad you asked!
Whether you're a budding botanist, a history lover or simply want to unwind, Camden Council has an exciting lineup of events and activities across for you to enjoy this month.
There's something for everyone, including:
- Spring Gardening Workshop on Wednesday 3 September, 10-11.30am, at Narellan Library. Residents are invited to learn the joys of seasonal planting;
- Unlock Camden 2025 on Saturday 6 September, 10am-2pm. This free, immersive heritage event across Camden's cultural precinct, including Camden Library, Camden Museum and Alan Baker Art Gallery, offers guided walking tours, special Storytime sessions, market stalls, local music, garden games and displays;
- History Week 2025: Water Stories on Tuesday 9 September, 5.30-7.15 pm, at Camden Library. This twilight opening of A River Runs Through It, a photography exhibition that flows through the heart of the Camden area. The event includes refreshments and a live performance by The Honey Sippers at 6pm;
- Kids Fun Day on Wednesday 10 September, 10am-2pm, at Julia Reserve. This free community event aims to engage young families with entertainment and activities targeted to children aged up to five years;
- Author Talk: Steve Matthews on Monday 15 September, 5.30-7.30pm, at Narellan Library; and
- TASTE Camden, on Sunday 21 September, 12-5pm, at Camden Town Farm. The much-loved event boasts more than 40 food, beverage and product stalls as well as MasterChef champion, Justin Narayan.
Camden Libraries are also running their ongoing events and activities throughout the school term, including:
· High School Help; · Dungeons and Dragons;
· Homework Help Club; · Storytime;
· Code Club; · Tech Help; and
· Lego Robotics; · Justice of the Peace Service;
· Serenity Sessions.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, encouraged everyone to join in.
"It's wonderful to see such a rich program lighting up Camden this September," she said.
"From the heritage-filled experiences like Unlock Camden to the hands-on events such as gardening workshops, there's so much opportunity to learn, relax and connect. And let's not forget the bigger events like Kids Fun Day and TASTE Camden, which are a real highlight for so many of our residents throughout the year.
"I hope everyone finds something that piques their interest!"
