Woman assaulted, car stolen during home invasion - Bonnyrigg Heights

Police are appealing for public assistance after a woman was assaulted and a car was stolen during a home invasion in Sydney's south west overnight.

About 11.15pm (Friday 9 October 2020), police were called to a home on Lewis Street, Bonnyrigg Heights, following reports of a home invasion.

Police have been told two men – armed with firearms – forced entry to the home and woke the occupants, two women, aged 45 and 67, a 46-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl – who were asleep at the time.

They were threatened, before the 67-year-old woman was assaulted with the firearm. She suffered a small cut to her face, however, did not require medical treatment.

The armed men stole a 2006 Honda Jazz parked in front of the home and fled.

The other occupants were not injured.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which is being treated as targeted.

As inquiries continue, detectives would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist them.

They are described only as being of medium build and had their faces covered at the time.

Anyone with information or who sights the Honda Jazz with registration AYS15Z is urged to come forward.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
