A new playground is on its way at Bella Vista Farm, located on Elizabeth Macarthur Drive, Bella Vista.
The culturally significant Bella Vista historic Farm was established in the late 1700s and features a fully restored two-storey homestead, Bunya Pine lined driveway and various farm buildings, all set on a prominent hilltop.
The playground will be located near the current barbecue and amenities area just outside the entrance to the Farm, and will feature a tower with spiral slide, a junior curved slide, rope climbs, whirly-go-round, an infant and strap swing set and an accessible birds nest swing.
The play space includes safety features such as a large shade structure and a combination of rubber softfall and mulch groundcover.
"This playground is going to be the perfect addition to the much-loved community space that is Bella Vista Farm Park," Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Peter Gangemi said.
"It will complement the existing settings, including the barbecue facilities, historic homestead, the picnic area, and the existing cycleways and pathways that loop around The Farm," Mayor Gangemi added.
Initial work is already underway and has included excavation, subbase preparation and the installation of a sandstone log, which acts as both a retaining wall and a seat. Concrete has also been poured for the cycleway located around the playground.
"Council continues to focus on prioritising and creating play environments for our local families to ensure the area remains one of the best places to settle in Sydney," he added.
