Works Progressing on Palmerston's new Fire Station

NT Government

Work is progressing on the Palmerston Regional Fire Station with the foundation poured and the structure of the complex going up.

The Territory Labor Government continues to invest in projects which create local jobs and enhance community safety.

Supporting over 240 jobs during the peak of construction, the $25 million complex is strategically located on Howard Springs Road.

The complex will be home to station firefighters and the Palmerston NTES Volunteers Unit, which will give the residents of Palmerston and the rural area a modern facility to meet the growing community's needs for decades to come.

Featuring more room for larger appliances, the new complex will have increased capacity for:

  • Larger crew numbers on extreme fire danger days,
  • Operation and meeting rooms,
  • Training area,
  • Breathing apparatus room; and a
  • Workshop and communications tower.

The station is expected to be operational in March 2022, with construction completed early 2022.
