Wellington Shire Council is reminding Yarram residents that additional programming will be available at the new-look Yarram pool this summer swim season, with the aim of increasing accessibility for the community.
With the recent completion of the Warmer Pool for Yarram Project, the Yarram pool now includes an impressive over-pool structure with blinds and electric heat pumps that keep the water temperature to a warm 29 degrees Celsius, allowing for multipurpose use and increased services to be offered to pool users.
In line with Council’s summer season pools operating model, the Yarram pool will be open on days when the temperature is forecast to reach 25 degrees or higher. During peak season (17 December 2022 – 29 January 2023), the pool will operate for guaranteed hours from midday to 3pm regardless of the forecasted temperature.
Additional services this summer swim season will include:
- Gentle exercise sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 8am-11am and 3pm-4pm
- Lap swimming from 6am to 8am weekday mornings, regardless of the temperature
- Early access to support water education programming and large group bookings (including school groups)
Peak season will operate from 17 December until 29 January 2023 (weekdays 11.00am – 7.30pm, weekend and public holidays 10.30am – 6.00pm).
Off-peak season will operate from 30 January 2023 until 13 March 2023 (weekdays 4.00pm – 7.30pm, weekend and public holidays 10.30am – 6.00pm) in line with the summer season outdoor pools operating model.
Pool users should visit www.wellington.vic.gov.au/pools or the Aqua Energy Facebook page for updates on outdoor pool operating hours and for general pool information.
