5 June 2026 | Osaka, Japan
To mark World Environment Day 2026, UNEP-IETC and the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), in collaboration with Kindai University, brought together over 40 students in Japan to explore how circular lifestyles can help tackle the growing challenge of e-waste.

Through interactive lectures, hands-on workshops, and creative activities, participants examined the environmental impacts of everyday electronics consumption and developed youth-led solutions to promote responsible use, reuse, repair, and recycling.
The initiative showcased the power of young people to drive behaviour change, challenge social norms, and advance circular economy approaches to one of the worlds fastest-growing waste streams.
